Drop the Mic was founded in 2015 by Stephanie Bonte-Lebair, after several members performed together in a musical and wanted to continue creating music as a group. Since then, we’ve brought together talented vocalists from across Maryland, Washington D.C., and Virginia, performing at community events, festivals, private gatherings, and holiday celebrations throughout the region.
Our eight-member ensemble spans a wide range of ages, which means a wide range of musical influences. That diversity allows us to perform pop and rock favorites from multiple decades and thoughtfully shape our sets to suit different audiences and event styles.
From lively outdoor festivals to intimate celebrations, we focus on delivering performances that feel engaging, polished, and enjoyable for everyone in attendance. We’ve even created custom musical videos for special occasions, such as milestone birthdays, when something a little more personal is called for.
Above all, Drop the Mic is about connection — through music people recognize, harmonies that bring energy to a space, and performances that make events feel memorable.

Our typical minimum is $250, which includes 45–60 minutes of performance time.
Custom videograms or recorded cover songs start at $250.
For non-profits and community festivals with limited budgets, we’re often able to work within your budget if on-site tipping is permitted.

Yes. We’re happy to provide a list of songs currently in our repertoire upon request.
We typically aren’t able to accommodate last-minute special requests, but new songs can be learned with ample notice (a minimum of two months) depending on availability.

We’re flexible and experienced with a variety of setups.
We can provide our own sound system if needed. In that case, we simply require access to power and enough space for eight performers plus speakers, indoors or outdoors.
If you’re providing sound, we require eight wireless microphones, including one configured for vocal percussion.
We’re happy to coordinate directly with your tech team or venue.
Yes — and we love them.
We’ve performed on decks, patios, and in backyards where guests relax on blankets or chairs. These events are fun, intimate, and a great fit for our all-vocal setup.
Earlier is always better, especially for holiday events and festivals, which tend to fill quickly. That said, we’re happy to check availability even if your event date is approaching.
